The Boomjacks- Beats vol 3

Note to all: I found this gem instead of sleeping. The Boomjacks are Finland brother duo consisting of electic hip hop beats. Their newest creation named Beats vol. 3, a 17 track album, is free on their bandcamp page. They also have teamed up with Apollo's Sun to create a pretty sweet hip hop single. If you are a fan of Onra and Flying Lotus, then you should like these guys. Take a listen and chill.

Mos Def- The Ecstatic

I've always liked collaborations that involved Mos Def, especially with the Roots and Gorillaz, so for me to like his album doesn't surprise me. I had always noticed rave reviews for this album, but it didn't hit me to actually get it until now.

For all of the Hype I had been hearing about this album, Big Boi w/o doubt delivers with a very impressive album. Gorillaz- Plastic Beach

Back in the day, Gorillaz was a weird pop hip-hop band with cartoon characters that played as the members. The concept was cool I suppose but their early music was pretty lame in my opinion. While the cartoon member pitch may still be effect today, this album seems to take a different approach. This album actually has very great songs that don't sound cartoonish at all. And unlike their previous pop albums, it is more likely to get consistently hooked to each song. If you have always not liked Gorillaz but do enjoy electronic music, I bet you will enjoy this album.
